Top-ranked Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Top Player Accolades.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive season.
The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.
A Season of High Performance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
In July, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka concluded the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and picked up a historic £11m in earnings.
She garnered almost eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".

- Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, received the award after taking a extended hiatus after the arrival of her daughter and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Newcomer of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko received the award after starting the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and rising to the eighteenth spot.
- Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend earned the title after winning their second Grand Slam title as a pair.
- Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after making five finals.
Last week, Carlos Alcaraz secured three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
